International transfers

We may transfer, store and process your personal data outside the UK. Where we transfer your personal data between the UK and the EEA those transfers are made pursuant to the UK government's adequacy decision in favour of countries in the EEA.

Whenever we transfer your personal data out of the UK or the EEA, we ensure a similar degree of protection is afforded to it by ensuring appropriate safeguards are implemented.

All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers. Where we have given you a password that enables you to access certain parts of our App, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to protect your personal data from loss, unauthorised use or access.

When using the chat room or forum features of the App, please ensure that you do not submit any personal data that you do not want to be seen, collected or used by other users.

Data retention

We keep your personal data only as long as we have a lawful basis to do so. When that basis no longer applies, or when you delete your account or ask us to remove your data, we delete or anonymise it as described in the Account deletion section below. In some circumstances you may request removal of your data — see the Your legal rights section below.

Account deletion

You can delete your account at any time from the Settings screen within the App. Deletion is permanent and takes effect immediately — there is no recovery period, and once it completes your account cannot be restored.

When you delete your account, we permanently erase your personal data and identity, including your profile, name, email address, authentication record, profile photo, push notification tokens, and the pregnancy, tracking, and other personal information held on your device. Files you have uploaded that identify you, including photos and videos, are deleted.

Some content you created in shared spaces — such as forum posts and comments, direct messages, and group and event chat messages — is retained so that conversations and threads other users took part in remain intact. Where we retain this content, we anonymise it: it is no longer linked to you and is attributed to a deleted user, and any photos or videos you uploaded to it are removed. In limited cases we may retain a minimal, anonymised record relating to safety and moderation (for example, where a report was made), which can no longer be tied back to you, where we have a legitimate interest in keeping it.

Your legal rights

You may create or change your privacy preferences by editing your profile settings. You have the following rights under data protection laws in relation to your personal data:

  • Access — request access to and/or a copy of the personal data we process about you.
  • Correction — request correction of any incomplete or inaccurate data we hold about you.
  • Deletion — request us to delete or remove personal data where there is no good reason for us continuing to process it.
  • Objection — object to us processing your personal data where we are relying on legitimate interests or for direct marketing purposes.
  • Restriction — request that we restrict or suspend our processing of your personal data.
  • Data portability — request we transfer certain of your personal data to you or your chosen third party.
  • Withdraw consent — withdraw your consent at any time where we are relying on consent to process your personal data.
  • Complain to us — contact us first using the contact information in the Who We Are section above.
  • Complain to the UK data protection regulator — you have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner's Office at any time.

You can exercise any of these rights at any time by contacting us at hello@bambino.so.
